This is a single 5 hour class, including an hour for lunch, but you will need to bring something to eat. There is also a JD’s nearby that has great traditional tacos and burgers, if you are not able to prepare.

Open to all skill levels.

Topics covered include: safety, tool uses, body posture, hammer control, demonstrations, and as much forge time as possible. We will cover 7 of the 8 primary hand forged processes. These include Drawing, Upsetting, Bending, Twisting, Punching, Slitting, and Drifting, while excluding forge welding as it take a little more experience. These basic processes can be used in various order, with various tools, and to various materials to create any and all hand forged forms. Students will use them in this class to create small item of the instructors choosing like bottle openers, candle sticks or BBQ forks.
